NAF Project Mission

A NOTE TO SURVIVORS:

We are not a counseling service and neither myself or Mel has any kind of professional education in the area of psychology. We are two people trying to send a positive message.
At the moment we do not have a professional on staff to comb through our posts and make sure they are “trigger safe” for survivors and for that I apologize. We hope to have someone to help us with this area soon. In the meantime, please, keep in mind your own mental state and your own triggers. If you have seen something we posted that is a concern to you we would like for you to contact us so we can correct the problem.

OUR MISSION :
The Not At Fault Project was created in response to the cruel social stigma that blankets those who have suffered from any form of sexual abuse. Whether it be physical, verbal or psychological, all of these forms of abuse are life altering and deserve to be addressed in a supportive, hopeful manner.
“Not At Fault” is the literal message. Nobody who has suffered from sexual abuse is at fault. The way we dress, talk or were raised does not give pedophiles and abusers permission to harm us. We all deserve love, respect and safety.
Our mission is to spread the message that being a survivor does not make you “dirty, damaged or broken,” and it is most certainly not your fault. The burden of guilt can be devastating and sometimes lead to self-harming behaviors, so it must be addressed. Survivors deserve support and that is what Not At Fault is intended to provide.
We are similarly named to an earlier, unrelated project of the same goal. Please, log onto their website for more supportive messages.
WHO ARE WE?
Tina is the founder of Not At Fault and she is the survivor of childhood sexual abuse. Her goal is to tell other survivors that they do not have to blame themselves for what has happened to them. In the past, Tina has resorted to unhealthy coping mechanisms such as self-harm and even suicidal thoughts, but then she learned to move past the guilt and it was life-changing. Everyone deserves to hear that it is not their fault and every survivor need support. NAF is here for all sexual assault and abuse survivors.
Mel, is the co-founder of Not At Fault and her bio will be added at a later date along with her video message to other survivors.
