This is a place where I can answer your frequently asked questions and clarify what our intentions are with the Not At Fault Project.
Q. Why don’t you have more specific resources for survivors world wide?
A. We have links to sites that were creating for exactly that purpose. There are literally hundreds of crisis numbers and sites, support forums and counseling services listed on the sites in our resource page. It would take to long to link them all individually to our page.
Q. What are you doing to ensure the safety of people submitting their stories?
A. We will not allow detailed personal information into any of the submitted material or - if acceptable - it will be edited out so that everyones identity will be safe and anonymous.
Q. Are you a support site?
A. We support survivors, but we are NOT a support forum. We are a link in the chain. You can find all kinds of support forums and networks through our resource page.
Q. Will you add a chat or forum in the future?
A. No. It would be too difficult for two people to moderate either a chat or forum and we want to make sure everything is as sanitized as possible so as not to trigger survivors.
Q. I want to help, but I am not a survivor. Can I still make a support video?
A. Yes. My co-founder has started a blog specifically for people who are friends and family to survivors. You can submit content to her directly at: naf-mel or you can submit it through our e-mail: NotAtFaultProject@gmail.com
Q. Will the NAF Project stay strictly online?
A. No. We are saving up funds to start printing out brochures and fliers that will have our contact information, our mission statement and a lot of encouraging messages to survivors letting them know the abuse was not their fault. So, the digital message is only the beginning.
What we ARE:
- A supportive nexus for survivors and their peers
- An information resource for survivors, friends and family
- A place where everyone can feel respected
- A voice for those who cannot speak
What we are NOT:
- A counseling service
- A charity or non-profit organization (at the moment)
- A replacement for therapy or in person support groups
- Professional Therapists
- An online Support Group
